NRL Round 22 Preview - Titans v Panthers @ CBUS Super Stadium
Gold Coast Titans v Penrith Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium
Preview - The Panthers will be looking to respond to a week of turmoil when they travel to the Gold Coast to take on the struggling Titans. Despite beating the Raiders 40-31 and sitting equal 4th on the competition table, the sacking of Anthony Griffin means the Panthers will have rookie coach Cameron Ciraldo in charge. The Titans produced another horror display last week losing 28-12 to the last placed Eels in what has been another season of disappointment.
Gold Coast Titans’ Scouting Report - Garth Brennan has lost Brenko Lee to injury and, replaced him with Brendan Elliot in the centres. Keegan Hipgrave returns in the second row, pushing Will Matthews to the bench.
Penrith Panthers’ Scouting Report - Penrith have changes up front with Reagan Campbell-Gillard returning to the run-on side for Moses Leota. James Tamou though is out, with Jack Hetherington replacing him in the starting front row.
Verdict - Panthers by 6-16 in a high scoring game
It certainly hasn't been a dull week at Penrith, however first week under a new coach I'm expecting all the players to be on notice to impress. The Titans were simply deplorable last week against the Eels and, whilst they do have the odd good performance in them, it’s impossible to back them with any confidence at all. I actually think Penrith have been awful the last couple of weeks, but still found ways to score tries in bunches on talent alone, and that will probably be enough against a Titans’ side with nothing to play for.
