NRL Round 11 Preview - Dragons v Raiders @ Glen Willow Oval

St. George Illawarra Dragons v Canberra Raiders @ Glen Willow Oval
Preview - The Dragons will be looking to bounce back from just their second defeat of the season as they take a game to Mudgee against the Raiders on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons looked flat in being outplayed from start to finish against the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium, but remain a game clear at the top the table. The Raiders blew another game, going down 24-16 to the Sharks despite leading 16-8 at halftime, and Cronulla having a heap of talent sitting on the sidelines injured.
St George Illawarra Dragons Scouting Report - The Dragons have been largely untroubled by injuries this year but looked tired against Souths last week and copped some bruises. Jack de Belin battled a hip injury during Sunday’s game and could be in doubt. Ben Hunt only had a cork and will be fine to play the Raiders.
Canberra Raiders Scouting Report - Blake Austin has been named despite seeming to suffer a serious ankle injury last week.
Verdict - Dragons by 4-12 in a high scoring game
I think this game will be a lot closer than people think as the Dragons are just showing a few signs they’re a little banged up after a heavy 10 weeks. However, how on earth can you trust Canberra given they have already blown 3-4 games they should have won this season. Bottom line is if this game is up for grabs in the final 20 minute, which I expect it to be, the only side I can’t trust is the Raiders given they have proven over 2 years they can’t handle close finishes well. Dragons to win, but not have it all their own way in a high scoring game.
