NFL - Monday Night Football Double Header Preview (Saints @ Vikings, Chargers @ Broncos)

New Orleans Saints @ Minnesota Vikings - U.S Bank Stadium
Preview - The Saints travel to Minnesota to lock horns with the Vikings on Monday Night Football at U.S Bank Stadium tomorrow night. The Saints are coming off a 3rd straight season outside the playoffs finishing 7-9 and 3rd in the AFC South in other disappointing season. Whilst Drew Brees continues to play at an extraordinary high level and the Sants offence looks potent how far they go this year will be determined their defence can improve significantly. The Vikings started last season a 5-0 in a blaze of glory before missing the playoffs a at 9-7. With Sam Bradford in his 2nd year and more settled the side will be aiming to push into the playoffs this year. Adrian Pietersen will line up agains the club who traded hm in Minnesota, where he carved out a Hall of Fame career.
Prediction - Saints by 1-6 in a high scoring upset
It's just hard to trust the Saints on the road. They are a far better side at home in their indoor stadium compared to cold Minnesota. However I do expect them to be stronger this year and be right in this game against a Vikings team that isn't going to blow anyone way.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos - Mile High
Preview - The Broncos and Chargers lock horns in an explosive AFC West Divisional rivalry on Monday Night Football in Denver, The Chargers are a franchise in a state of flux having moved from San Diego to Los Angeles, and will play in a soccer stadium with a capacity of just 28,000 fans this season. The Chargers are expected to improve this season after coming off a horror 5-11 season last season where they blew a number of 4th quarter leads and suffered a debilitating injury toll. The Broncos missed the playoffs as defending Champions despite going 9-7 last season. The team's defence remained strong however their offence was pedestrian with doubts surrounding the quality of the 3 quarterbacks on their roster.
Prediction - Broncos by 6-14 in a low scoring game
I'm warming towards the Broncos really ambushing the Chargers in front of their noisy home fans. The Chargers are a flaky sort of side and Denver on a Monday Night is not an easy environment to go into and get a win on the opening weekend. I actually don't rate the Broncos much this year, however this is the sort of game they get themselves up for against a division rival that has been hyped up in the off season. Think this game will be intense and low scoring with defences getting on top with the Broncos controlling the game from start to finish.
