NRL Round 23 Preview - Sharks v Cowboys @ Shark Park
Cronulla Sharks v North Queensland Cowboys @ Shark Park
Preview - The Sharks host the Cowboys as they look to push for a Top 4 spot over the remaining three weeks of the season. The Sharks once again raised their game on the big occasion, as they toppled one of their arch rivals in the Storm 17-14 in Melbourne to make it 5 wins from their past 7 games against the Storm. The Cowboys secured one of their best wins of a wretched season, as they toppled their rivals, the Broncos, 34-30, despite trailing 30-18 at one point.
Cronulla Sharks’ Scouting Report - Wade Graham’s frustrating season of injuries continues as he is out again, with Scott Sorensen in the second row, and Kurt Capewell added to the bench.
North Queensland Cowboys’ Scouting Report - A huge loss for the Cowboys with Jason Taumalolo out suspended for a week. John Asiata replaces Taumolol, with Francis Molo joining the interchange.
Verdict - Sharks by 6-14
The Cowboys are finally playing some decent football here, so the Sharks can’t expect a walkover given their patchy form on their home field against lower ranked sides. However, the loss of Taumolo is a huge one for the Cowboys and I can’t see them now matching the Sharks. The stakes are high for the Sharks and I think they will get the job done.
