NRL Round 22 Preview - Rabbitohs v Roosters @ ANZ Stadium

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Sydney Roosters @ ANZ Stadium

Preview – It’s a blockbuster at the top of the NRL table, as the Rabbitoh's host bitter rivals the Roosters with top spot on the table up for grabs. The Rabbits could not have been more impressive in dismantling the Storm 32-18 in a brutal display of power last week at ANZ Stadium. The Roosters made it 9 wins from their last 10 games, with a 26-20 victory over the Cowboys, to get to a season high of second place on the ladder.

South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Scouting Report - Richie Kennar replaces Adam Doueihi in the backline with Doueihi out for the season with a knee injury. Winger Campbell Graham with Braydon Burns coming onto the wing.

Sydney Roosters’ Scouting Report - The Roosters have named an unchanged line up from the one that snuck home against the Cowboys. Some of their senior forwards will be up for a big game after being embarrassed by Souths the first time the sides clashed.

Verdict - Rabbitohs by 1-6 in a high quality game

This game will be an absolute cracker between two sides at the peak of their powers that don’t get along. I still can’t get out of my head what the Souths forwards did to the Roosters first game around this year. Whilst I’m sure the Roosters will be out for revenge, the way I saw Souths bully the Storm last week it could happen again to the Roosters here. Perhaps Souths could be a little vulnerable given the fact that they are coming off such a huge win, whilst the Roosters have had a softer preparation. However, on current form I’ll go for Souths to edge it, given the fact I think they can dominate the middle of the field.
