NRL Round 20 Preview - Roosters v Dragons @ Allianz Stadium
Sydney Roosters v St. George Illawarra Dragons @ Allianz Stadium
Preview – It’s a Sunday afternoon cracker as the Roosters and Dragons lock horns at Allianz Stadium. The Roosters put an exclamation point on their mid-season resurgence by thumping Manly 56-24 in a display of attacking force that would put fear into the rest of the competition. The Dragons got a confidence boosting 24-10 win over the Cowboys to jump back into second spot on the competition ladder.
Sydney Roosters’ Scouting Report - The only changes for a red hot Roosters side are Isaac Liu and Mitchell Aubusson return on the bench for Lindsay Collins and Nat Butcher.
St. George Illawarra Dragons’ Scouting Report - The Dragons welcome back barnstorming backrower Tyson Frizell, with Luciano Leilua dropping to the bench.
Verdict – Roosters by 1-6 in a high quality game
I’ll go for the Roosters, however I expect the Dragons pack to give them a real test here. In the ANZAC Day game earlier this year, whilst the Dragons won 24-8, the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, and the Roosters have got far better since then particularly in attack. The Dragons win was much needed last week, but not entirely convincing. I think the Roosters can turn the tables from earlier this year but think it will go down to the wire.
