MY 5 Best Bets for NRL Round 24
Parramatta Eels v Gold Coast Titans @ ANZ Stadium
BET - Parramatta Eels -12.5
1. The Titans are putrid right now, having been beaten by over 20 points twice, and over 50 points once, in their last 3 games.
2. The Eels will be desperate to bounce back after they had lax attitude against the Knights last week.
3. The Titans have nothing to play for, and the Eels have everything to play for.
4. With Neil Henry now a lame duck coach waiting to be sacked, I can't see the players of the Gold Coast getting up for this game.
5. I reckons the Eels come out of the blocks hard here and really turn the screws, belting the Titans into submission by 20+.
South Sydney Rabbitohs v New Zealand Warriors @ ANZ Stadium
BET = South Sydney Rabbitohs -8.5
1. The Warriors are another team that has flown the white flag this year, being beaten comfortably by 13+ in their last 4 games.
2. The Warriors have been dismal on the road this year, with just 1 win and a number of hammerings.
3. Souths are playing with plenty of energy and intent at the moment, winning their last 2 games against the Dragons and Bulldogs.
4. The Rabbitohs have made a habit the past two years of finishing the season very strongly, while the Warriors are the exact opposite.
5. I can’t see anything other than a massive win for the Rabbitohs here, and -8.5 looks generous.
Sydney Roosters v Wests Tigers @ Allianz Stadium
BET = Sydney Roosters - 12.5
1. The Roosters have already beaten the Tigers by 22 this year and that was at Campbelltown.
2. The Roosters have won their last 7 games against the Tigers by more than 13 points.
3. The Roosters are back to full strength, with Michael Gordon and Jake Friend returning to the side over the past 2 weeks.
4. The Tigers might be a bit flat after a 6-day turnaround and after that emotionally charged win over the Sea Eagles last week that cleared them of the spoon.
5. The Roosters love playing the Tigers and, with plenty to play for, I can see this being a tough night for the Tigers.
Canberra Raiders v Penrith Panthers @ GIO Stadium
BET = Over 43.5 Total Match Points
1. These sides combined for 44 points on a slippery night in Bathurst a couple of months ago.
2. Afternoon games in Canberra mean a dry and fast track.
3. These sides have plenty of strike power in attack, and are both hitting their straps at just the right time.
4. Both teams have scored over 20 points in their last 3 games and are clicking in attack.
5. I just think this has all the hallmarks of an attacking feast of football on a sunny afternoon in Canberra.
Canterbury Bulldogs v Manly Sea Eagles @ ANZ Stadium
BET = Manly Sea Eagles - 10.5
1. The Bulldogs are a mess right now, having lost their last 7 games.
2. The Bulldogs have lost 3 of their past 4 games by 13+ and are offering nothing with the football in hand.
3. Manly were stunned by the Tigers last week; however they still put up 26 points, which will be far too many for the Bulldogs.
4. Manly have everything to play for, whilst the Bulldogs’ minds are well and truly elsewhere with the drama surrounding the Club.
5. I just see Manly having far too much strike power for the Bulldogs, and putting a big score on them,
