Oakland Raiders (6-6) @ Kansas City Chiefs (6-6) - Arrowhead Stadium

Bitter AFC West rivals the Raiders and Chiefs square off with first place in the Division on the line at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. When Kansas City won their first 5 games of the season, they appeared to be strolling towards back-to-back AFC West titles. However, the wheels have started to come off as Andy Reid’s men have dropped 6 of their past 7 games. Suddenly, Oakland, having spent much of the season stumbling and bumbling their way through, have won 3 of their last 4, and can sweep the Chiefs at a venue where they often struggle.

The Raiders have not won in Kansas City since 2012, with Derek Carr having struggled in each of his 3 games in Kansas City. At the start of the season many experts thought the AFC West could be the best Division in football, however we’re now in the crazy situation where 3 teams are tied at 6-6 with 4 games to go in the Division race. The Chargers are surging, having won 5 from their past 6 after an 0-4 start and they, along with the Raiders, will feel they have the momentum on their side. Earlier this season the Raiders won a wild game in Oakland 31-30 on a Thursday night against the Chiefs with a final play touchdown.

Prediction - Kansas City Chiefs 30 Oakland Raiders 23

I'm a Raiders fan and I know the Chiefs are in free-fall, but the Raiders have not impressed me despite winning 3 of their past 4. They scraped over the line at home against two of the worst teams in the NFL in the Broncos and Giants, as well as getting a scrappy 3-point win on the road against the struggling Dolphins. The Chiefs have an outstanding record over the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium, and Alex Smith played really well last week passing for over 300 yards with 4 touchdowns. I still don't trust the Raiders’ defence despite improved displays over the last two weeks. We have to take into account they came up against Paxton Lynch and Geno Smith, perhaps the 2 worst quarterbacks in the NFL. Alex Smith and Andy Reid, with their backs to wall at home tomorrow, I think will win in a high scoring game.
