NFL Round 2 - Thursday Night Preview
New York Jets (0-1) @ Buffalo Bills (0-1) - New Era Field
The Bills and Jets will be desperate to avoid an 0-2 start when they lock horns in an AFC East Divisional match up in Buffalo on Thursday night. The Bills put up their worst offensive performance in a decade mustering just 160 yards of total offence in their ugly 13-7 loss at Baltimore. Rex Ryan will be relishing the chance to get another win over his old team after going 2-0 against the Jets in 2015. The Jets blew their opportunity of a playoff berth with a final round loss in Buffalo where Ryan Fitzpatrick imploded, throwing 4 costly interceptions. Fitzpatrick is 1-8 against Rex Ryan coached teams and the Jets have dropped their last 5 games to the Bills. The Jets looked in far better shape in week 1 going down narrowly 23-22 to the Bengals at home with their front seven dominating in sacking Andy Dalton 7 times.
Verdict - Bills 22 Jets 16
I think this game will be typically chippy and physical. Expect a relatively low scoring game with both defences dominating for the most part. I can't get out of my head the Bills great record against the Jet as well as Fitzpatrick's awful record against Rex Ryan coached teams so going to stick with Buffalo at home.
