Just think the Broncos will be far too good for what is a banged-up Dragons’ side. The Broncos are in their best form of the season and, with a sold out crowd behind them and on a dry track, should be far too quick and powerful. Widdop is back but not expecting him to be 100% fit. The Panthers and Warriors combined for a game with 52 points just a few weeks ago, so unless there is some heavy rain expecting plenty of points between two sides that like to throw the ball around.

Just melding up the high-ranked home teams here, who all are favourites to win their Week 1 finals’ games. Souths have a horror record in Melbourne and, with Slater, Munster and Vunivalu returning, the Storm will be mighty tough to roll at home. The Roosters have already been to Shark Park and won this year and, with the best defensive side in the competition against, I think, a clunky at times Sharks attack, they can grind out a win at Allianz. Whilst there, Broncos should comfortably account for a Dragons’ side that has really struggled at the back end of the year.
