NRL Round 22 Preview - Broncos v Cowboys @ 1300 Smiles Stadium

NRL Round 22 Preview - Broncos v Cowboys @ 1300 Smiles Stadium

North Queensland Cowboys v Brisbane Broncos @ 1300 Smiles Stadium

Preview – It’s a Queensland derby as the Broncos visit the Cowboys in Townsville for Thursday night football. The Broncos will be looking to bounce back from a horrible 36-22 loss to the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium to see them in 7th spot on the table, with a Top 4 spot now looking unlikely. The Cowboys produced one of their best performances of the season last week, completing at 98%, despite losing 26-20 to the Roosters.

North Queensland Cowboys’ Scouting Report - Just the one change for the home side with Corey Jensen replacing Shaun Fensom on the interchange bench.

Brisbane Broncos’ Scouting Report - A host of changes for the Broncos with Captain Darius Boyd shifting back to fullback, with Jamayne Isaako moving to wing. The Broncos debut Gehamat Shibasaki at centre, whilst David Fifita starts in the second row, with Tevita Pangai Jnr on the bench. Joe Ofahengaue starts at lock for the suspended Josh McGuire.

Verdict - Hard not to see the Broncos getting the win here. Whilst their performance was awful last week against the Bulldogs, they were excellent in their past two home games. Put simply, I think they have too much pace and power in their side, and their best is a lot better than the Cowboys’ best.
