NRL Round 20 Preview - Storm v Raiders @ AAMI PARK

Melbourne Storm v Canberra Raiders @ AAMI Park

Preview - The Storm will be looking to maintain their spot on top of the table when they host the Raiders at AAMI Park on Saturday night. The Storm ground out a 12-6 win over the Warriors in Auckland to find themselves first, after winning six games on the trot at a time of the year when they are traditionally hamstrung through the Origin period. The Raiders went down once again in a close one 28-24 to the Sharks in a game where two crucial decisions wrongly went against them.

Melbourne Storm Scouting Report - Craig Bellamy makes just the one change with Dale Finucane starting at lock, with Kenny Bromwich dropping back to the bench.

Canberra Raiders’ Scouting Report - Joe Tapine returns from suspension in the second row with veteran Sia Soliola going back to the bench. Nick Cotric swaps to centre, with Michael Oldfield moving to the wing, after he had an unhappy night against the Sharks.

Verdict – Storm by 13+

Can’t see anything other than a victory for the Storm here. I'm sure the Raiders can cause them their fair share of problems in attack, but they are just not resilient enough defensively to hold out Melbourne. Whilst I wouldn’t be surprised if the Raiders score 20, there is a very real chance they could give up 30 plus if the Storm’s weapons can exploit some of their real weaknesses on the edges in defence.
