NRL Round 19 Preview - Tigers v Rabbitohs @ ANZ Stadium

Wests Tigers v South Sydney Rabbitohs @ ANZ Stadium

Preview - It's a game of magnificent individual milestones as the Tigers host the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night. This game contains some fascinating subplots with Robbie Farah playing his 250th game for the Tigers, against the side that related him mid-season in the Rabbitohs. The Tigers revived their faltering season with a gutsy 20-16 victory over the Dragons at Jubilee Stadium to keep their faint final hopes flickering. The Rabbitohs will celebrate John Sutton’s 300th game for the Club as they look to maintain their spot at the Top of the Table after sweeping aside the Bulldogs 24-6 at ANZ Stadium.

Wests Tigers’ Scouting Report - A big blow for the Tigers with their form forward Chris Lawrence out for 4-6 weeks with a hamstring injury. Michael Chee Kam comes into the starting pack, with Alex Twal returning on the bench. Robbie Farah will be up for a big game in his 250th against his old Club.

South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Scouting Report -
Veteran back rower Jason Clark returns from suspension on the bench in place of Mark Nicholls. Greg Inglis is still not fit to return from injury as Souths go for 10 wins in a row.

Verdict – Souths by 10-18 I’m expecting a big crowd at this game and the Tigers to be fairly competitive. However I think the loss of Chris Lawrence is a huge one to their forward pack, and Souths should really dominate this game in the middle of the field. Their forwards have far more power and size than the Tigers, and that will allow their playmakers plenty of time to capitalise on opportunities here. I know the Tigers were good last week, however the Dragons were really out of sorts, and I can’t see the Rabbitohs not having the intensity in Sutton’s 300th game. Souths to win by 12-18.
