NRL Round 14 Preview - Bulldogs v Dragons @ ANZ Stadium

Canterbury Bulldogs v St. George Illawarra Dragons @ ANZ Stadium

Preview - The Bulldogs host the Dragons on Monday afternoon as they look to have a brighter second half of the season after registering just three wins throughout the opening 13 rounds. The Bulldogs are fresh off a bye after another close defeat in Round 12 where they blew a 10-4 halftime lead to lose 14-10 to the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium. The Dragons are also coming off a bye, having been demolished in the Top of the Table showdown against Penrith at Pepper Stadium. The 28-23 loss took the Dragons off the competition lead for the first time since Round 2.

Canterbury Bulldogs’ Scouting Report -
The Bulldogs have a host of changes in key positions with playmaker Kieran Foran out injured.  Michael Lichaa is back form reserve grade at hooker, with Jeremy Marshall-King moving back to five-eight. David Klemmer has been named to back up from Origin with Adam Elliott moving to lock and Rhyse Martin to the bench.

St. George Illawarra Scouting Report - The Dragons have named an unchanged team from the one that was dismantled by Penrith in Round 12. All of their Origin stars in Ben Hunt, Tyson Frizell, Jack De Belin and Paul Vaughan have been named to back up 5 days on from Origin one.

Verdict - Dragons by 10-18

I expect the Dragons to win this game fairly comfortably against a limited and clunky Bulldogs’ side. There has been no shortage of effort from the Bulldogs this season, however they really lack quality in key positions. Despite the Dragons’ form being patchy of late, they have the weapons to win this game comfortably given their big pack should be able to at least match the Bulldogs in the middle.
