NRL Round 9 Preview - Roosters v Sea Eagles @ Allianz Stadium

Sydney Roosters v Manly Sea Eagles at Allianz Stadium

Preview  - The Roosters will be looking to get their season going when they host the reeling Sea Eagles at Allianz Stadium. The Roosters dropped to 4-4 on the season last week, going down 24-8 on ANZAC Day to the Dragons, despite dominating the game for large periods The Sea Eagles tried hard against the Knights, but ultimately dropped to a 4th straight loss 18-12 as they continue to be surrounded by injuries and off-season dramas and a season that is fast slipping away.

Sydney Roosters’ Scouting Report - The Roosters are unchanged despite dropping their 4th game of the season last week. Cooper Cronk and James Tedesco will be looking to have more impact in attack, after having good held possession last week but failing to convert opportunities into points.

Manly Sea Eagles Scouting Report - Manly are scrambling a bit at the moment, with Dylan Walker to play five-eighth for the injured Croker. Jackson Hastings comes into the reserves but is unlikely to play . Former Tiger and almost-Bulldog Moses Suli is named in the centres to replace Walker. Lane starts in the back row for the injured Gosiewski and Winterstein joins the bench.

Verdict - Roosters by 24+

Hard to see anything other than a thumping win for the Roosters, given Manly look like they are back to the bare bones, and are playing with little confidence. A concern is that the Roosters have scored just one try on four occasions this season, however I think the dams are about to break as they won’t face anywhere near the same resistance from Manly as they found against the Dragons. I think the Roosters will win this game by 20+, and Manly to firm as a genuine wooden spoon contender this season.
