NRL Round 12 Preview - Tigers v Bulldogs @ ANZ Stadium

Wests Tigers v Canterbury Bulldogs @ ANZ Stadium

Preview -
The Tigers will be looking to halt their recent slide when they take on the struggling Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Sunday. The Tigers have now lost 4 of their last 5 matches after competing hard, but looking listless with the football, in losing 16-2 to the Panthers at Pepper Stadium on Thursday night, to cling on to 8th spot on the competition ladder. The Bulldogs tried hard against the Sharks but were once again cursed by poor errors and penalties in going down 22-16, to slump to 3-8 and seemingly well out of finals’ contention after just 11 rounds.

Wests Tigers’ Scouting Report - The Tigers have some key changes with Tui Lolohea back at fullback and Corey Thompson shifting to the wing. Lolohea has been injured as well as out of favour this season, and needs a big performance to spark his side’s faltering attack. Josh Reynolds is back on the interchange bench to face his old Club whilst Jacob Liddle starts at hooker.

Canterbury Bulldogs’ Scouting Report -
The Bulldogs have lost one of their senior players with Josh Morris coming off halfway through last week’s game with a leg injury. Promising young centre Josh Olive comes in in his place whilst Jeremy Marshall-King goes head to head with his brother Benji Marshall for the first time.

Verdict - Bulldogs by 1

The Bulldogs have lost plenty of close ones this season so it might be time for them to finally get over the line in a game that there will be little in from start to finish. These two Clubs have been involved in so many close games this year, with their ability to play tough and hard, but lack ability to score points and play fluently in attack. I actually think the Bulldogs form is a little better than the Tigers form over the past 5 weeks, so I’ll tip them to edge this one by 2 points, as the Tigers early season heroics start to become a bit of a distant memory.
