NRL Round 12 Preview - Broncos v Eels @ Suncorp Stadium

Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eels @ Suncorp Stadium
Preview - The Broncos will be looking for back-to-back home victories when they take on the hapless Eels at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night. The Broncos scored a thrilling 28-22 victory over the Roosters to get to 6-5 on the scoreboard, despite trailing 22-16 with five minutes to play. The Eels’ shocking season continues somewhat unabated, losing 24-14 at home to the Warriors despite having opportunities to win the game in the second half.
Brisbane Broncos’ Scouting Report - Tom Opacic is replaced at centre by the returning Jordan Kahu who is back from broken jaw. Korbin Sims is out injured and is replaced by George Fai. Josh McGuire (ankle) may get a final chance to push for an Origin spot after being named on the extended bench. Impressive debutant Kotoni Staggs retains his bench spot.
Parramatta Eels Scouting Report - Brad Arthur has made a key positional change with Clint Gutherson and Corey Norman switching, with Gutherson to play five-eight and Norman to play fullback. The season-ending injury to Beau Scott sees Manu Ma’u move to the back row, Peni Terepo to lock, and Siosaia Vave recalled at prop.
Verdict - Broncos 13+ in a high scoring game
Can't see the Broncos slipping up here against a side that is already out of play in 2018. Despite their inconsistency this season, the Broncos have the ability to score points quickly and, against a leaky and struggling Eels’ side, could easily score 230 plus points here and give their Top 8 chances a further shot in the arm. The Eels have been competitive in their last three losses, however eventually all the effort for nothing can mean a let down, and I think they might cop a hiding here.
