NRL Round 10 Preview - Rabbitohs v Dragons @ ANZ Stadium

South Sydney Rabbitohs v St. George Illawarra Dragons @ ANZ Stadium

Preview – It’s a Sunday cracker as the Rabbitohs host the Dragons in a Sydney derby at ANZ Stadium. The Rabbitohs got to 5-4 on the season after a convincing 34-18 victory over the Knights where they continued to show off their renewed attacking arsenal under new coach Anthony Siebold. The Dragons confirmed themselves as the side to beat in 2018, with a 34-14 demolition of the defending premiers the Melbourne Storm in a game that they controlled from start to finish to get to 8-1 on the season.

South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Scouting Report -
The Rabbitohs get a massive inclusion with Sam Burgess back for this game after missing 4 of the last 5 weeks through suspensions. Cameron Murray shifts back to the bench with  Adam Doueihi dropping to the extended bench.

St. George Illawarra Scouting Report - The Dragons continue to go on serenely on the injury front, as they again named an unchanged starting team. Zac Lomax has been named for his NRL debut in Jersey 17, which coach Paul McGregor has rotated in recent weeks. Last week’s debutant Reece Robson drops to reserves.

Verdict - Dragons by 1-6 in a high scoring and high quality game

Great game in prospect here, as the Rabbitohs are one of the few sides in the competition in the right form, and with the attacking arsenal, to worry the Dragons. They only went down to them by 2 points at Kogarah in a game they were missing Sam Burgess who returns here. The Dragons could be vulnerable here after a couple of huge victories over the Roosters and Storm, however once again they are at full strength. It’s hard to trust the Rabbitohs in defence as even last week, if Ken Sio grounded that ball, they would have been behind against a Knights’ side missing Mitchell Pearce. I just think given the slippery conditions in Sydney it might suit the Dragons a bit more and they can sneak home in what should be one of the games of the season.
