NRL Round 5 Preview - Knights v Broncos @ McDonald Jones Stadium

Newcastle Knights v Brisbane Broncos @ McDonald Jones Stadium
Preview - The Knights and Broncos will both be looking to bounce back from losses when they lock horns at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on Saturday night. The Knights have crashed back to earth with a thud, losing their past two games by 30 points and 18 points in tough encounters on the road against the Roosters and Dragons. The Broncos were shocked by their little brothers, the Titans, as the Gold Coast came to Suncorp Stadium and dominated for 80 minutes, to come away with a 26-14 victory, to drop the Broncos to 2-2.
Newcastle Knights’ Scouting Report - The Knights will be licking their wounds again this week, having lost Tautau Moga for the season, fresh off losing Connor Watson long term to injury. Nathan Ross moves to centre to replace Tautau Moga (ACL) with Ken Sio joining the side on the wing.
Brisbane Broncos’ Scouting Report - The Broncos male a change on the wing with Corey Oates returning from injury, replacing Jonus Pearson on the wing. Tevita Pangai Jnr has been named on an extended bench and is some chance of retuning here.
Verdict - Broncos by 1-8 in a highs coring game
I think the Broncos will bounce back from Wayne Bennett’s stinging rebuke last week and account for the Knights this week. The Knights appear to have a lot of defensive frailties and, with injuries starting to bite them, I don’t think they have much quality or depth to call upon. The Broncos have not found much attacking rhythm this season, so I expect this game to a close affair, however I just think Brisbane might have a bit too much class as long as they are switched on.
