NRL Round 8 Preview Titans v Sharks @ CBUS Super Stadium

Gold Coast Titans v Cronulla Sharks @ CBUS Super Stadium
Preview - The Titans and Sharks lock horns in the battle of two 3-4 sides at CBus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast on Sunday afternoon. The Titans have suffered two heavy losses in the past two weeks going down 35-12 at Pepper Stadium last week in a performance Garth Brennan labelled as not up to NRL standard at times. The Sharks got a much needed win, beating the high flying Panthers 26-22, without Wade Graham and Paul Gallen, as they look to finally get some momentum in their stuttering season.
Gold Coast Titans’ Scouting Report – Titans’ coach Garth Brennan has made a big change in the halves, with five eight pivot Kane Elgey dropped after some indifferent performances. Bryce Cartwright state sin the number 6 jumper which is an interesting move for player seemed more destined for the back row. Tyronne Roberts-Davis is also axed in favour of Brendan Elliott after the heavy loss to the Cowboys.
Cronulla Sharks’ Scouting Report - The Sharks have received a boost with Wade Graham to play this weekend after he missed the Panthers’ clash with a hamstring injury. Graham comes in for Luke Lewis who will miss four weeks with a calf injury. Jayson Bukuya has also been cleared to play after overcoming a groin injury.
Verdict - Sharks by 8-16
I like the Sharks to go on the road and get a win here as they edge their way back up the table. Put simply, I think despite having a few players banged up, they are a tougher and more trustworthy team than the Titans who have suffered some heavy defeats already this season. CBUS Super Stadium is hardly a fortress for opposition teams so, despite the Titans being better at home, I just think the Sharks found something in attack last week and can build off that and win again, fairly handily, here.
