NRL Round 7 Preview - Rabbitohs v Raiders @ Central Coast Stadium

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Canberra Raiders @ Central Coast Stadium

Preview - The Raiders will be shooting for 3 straight victories when they take on the resurgent Rabbitohs at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Rabbitohs crushed their bitter rivals the Roosters 26-14 at Allianz Stadium last week, in a powerful and ominous display that showed the potential this side has under new coach Anthony Seibold. The Raiders are slowly picking up the pieces from their dreadful start to the year, beating winless Parramatta 18-2 to get to 2-4 on the season after two straight home victories.

South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Scouting Report - The Rabbitohs get a massive boost, with Sam Burgess returning from suspension at lock, pushing Jason Clark to the bench and Kyle Turner to the reserves. Cameron Murray has been named on the extended bench and remains an outside chance of returning this week from a hamstring injury. Damien Cook destroyed the Roosters last week with his speed and power and will be looking to do the same to the Raiders.

Canberra Raiders’ Scouting Report - The Raiders have named an unchanged side from the one that got the job done against the Eels. Blake Austin made a welcome return to form, scoring a try and setting one up as he looks to nail back down the Number 6 jersey.

Preview - Souths by 10-20 in a high scoring game

Souths should win this game fairly handily if they play like they did last week. The Raiders have steadied the ship over the past couple of weeks, however the Bulldogs and Eels offered very little in both those games. Souths have the forwards to match it with a big Raiders pack, and I think on a dry afternoon there could be plenty of points scored in this game on the Central Coast. The Raiders are a streaky sort of side, so now with a couple of wins under their belt, they are a dangerous proposition for most sides. I think they can trouble Souths in attack, but I reckon Souths are the best 3-3 team in the competition, and likely to go on a winning streak from here.
