NRL Round 15 Best Bets

1. South Sydney Rabbitohs v Gold Coast Titans @ ANZ Stadium
BET = Over 39.5 Total Match Points
1. When these sides clashed last year they combined for a whopping 57 points, with the Titans getting up 29-28.
2. The Titan’ defence has been awful this year, conceding over 27 points per game.
3. The weather has been a lot better in Sydney this week so we should get a decent surface which suits attacking football.
4. 7 of the Rabbitohs 13 games this year have held over 40 points.
5. I just see this game as being quite open, with both sides defensively suspect.
2. Melbourne Storm v North Queensland Cowboys @ AAMI Park
BET = Under 37.5 Total Match Points
1. The sides met 3 times last year and combined for just 24, 29, and 26 points in those 3 games.
2. With all the Origin players missing for both teams, I expect both to adopt fairly basic game plans.
3. The Storm is conceding just over 14 points per game this year.
4. The Cowboys’ defence this year has been nearly as good as the Storm’s, conceding just 17 points per game.
5. To me, this game has all the hallmarks of a low scoring grind, with it being close throughout.
3. Cronulla Sharks v Wests Tigers @ Shark Park
BET = Wests Tigers +11.5
1. The Sharks have a miserable record over the Tigers, winning just 4 from their last 17 against them.
2. Even though the Sharks have won the last 3, 2 of those victories came by 8 points or less.
3. The Sharks are missing their 5 biggest strike weapon in Holmes, Bird, Maloney, Fifita and Townsend.
4. The Sharks just seem to do enough to win this year, being involved in a number of close victories.
5. With Brooks back for the Tigers, I think that is a big plus, and while I don't think they will win, I expect this game to be closer than people anticipate.
4. Parramatta Eels v St. George Illawarra Dragons @ ANZ Stadium
BET = Parramatta Eels - 3.5
1. The Eels have already disposed of the Dragons once this season, winning 34-16 at WIN Stadium in Wollongong.
2. The Dragons are missing Dugan and Frizzle, whilst the Eels are at full strength.
3. Usually teams bounce back from a hiding and Parramatta were embarrassing last week against the Cowboys.
4. The Dragons’ attack has shown signs of hitting the wall of late, managing just 18 points in their last 2 games combined.
5. I just think Parramatta hold the aces in this game, provided they turn up with the right attitude, and can win this game by more than a try.
